Introduction

Founded by Bernard of Clairvaux in 1118, Fontenay is one of the oldest and most complete Cistercian abbeys in Europe.

Opening Hours & Admission

The abbey is open daily all year round. From 8th November to 15th April it is open from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The rest of the year it is open continuously from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Admission is 7.8 € for adults and 3.7 € for children and students under 26 years old. It is free for children under 7 years old and guides.
