Health New Coronavirus in China

A little bit of fun to alleviate the fear of the storm. Who can identify more than 50% of these characters of cartoon is in the risk group:

The first vaccine is being tested in Washington State as we speak. Those brave volunteers are taking a vaccine which hasn't gone through the full complement of normal animal testing and full review procedures. You think they won't release the formula if it works???

JUST STOP WITH THE POLITICS!

No they won’t the evidence is clear enough that POTUS wanted to buy it from a German company. In order to use it Unisono for the US.

New York Times on the necessity for masks.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/17/opinion/coronavirus-face-masks.html

I think somebody was reading our posts. :)

Always think for yourself people.

Are blood type "A" people more susceptible and have worse outcomes?

A study from Wuhan says that's perhaps the case, but need more widespread testing.

"Of 206 patients who had died from Covid-19 in Wuhan, 85 had type A blood, which was 63 per cent more than the 52 with type O. The pattern existed across different age and gender groups...

Blood types vary in a population. In the United States, about 44 per cent of the population is type O, while about 41 per cent is type A. In Wuhan, which has a population of about 11 million, type O is 32 per cent, while A is 34 per cent among healthy people. Among Covid-19 patients, it was about 38 and 25 per cent."

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/soc...ay-be-more-vulnerable-coronavirus-china-study

They didn't say anything about positive or negative so I guess it doesn't matter?

Would be interesting to see the paper.

Of course, I'm type A.

Great, I'm blood-type A+. At least I'll be working from home now.

I'm AB- guess I'm half at danger. Lol

Really sucks working for a doctor right now. Even if it is only for emergency cases in the office. They dont seem to have any concern for our staff and haven't shut down.

Like who the hell needs their wrist looked at for carpal tunnel at a time like this.

Nothing about type B?

Nothing about type B?

There was no link to the paper in the article. So, sorry, I don't know.

This is new:
Paper published in 2007: "The presence of a large reservoirof SARS-CoV-like viruses in horseshoe bats, together withthe culture of eating exotic mammals in southern China, is a time bomb".

So we've been saying. It's not just bats, either; it's pangolins.

Christ, even cats can make you sick if you eat them. It wasn't some ugly racist stereotype. In Hong Kong the government had to come out and ban the eating of dogs and cats. Christ!

Meanwhile, I was selling my house, and two Chinese families said they weren't interested because for 1) There's a house above me on the hill, and 2)there's a tree directly across from my property. It was bad sheng wei.

I guess millions and millions of houses must have bad shen wei.

We all have our superstitions, but how many people wouldn't buy a house because they saw a black cat?

New York now has 1700 cases with 19% requiring hospitalization and 12 people dead from the disease.

The Trump Administration is begging construction companies to donate their N95 masks to the local hospital and to stop ordering new ones. How the mighty have fallen! Please don't tell me that they have not been incompetent.
