23andMe 23&Me V5 Chip Upgrade

23&Me offered a sale on the V5 chip upgrade for their ancestry service. I decided to try it out. Even though I have tested with 23&Me a few years ago, the V5 upgrade required a new saliva sample. If you all have the V5 upgrade yourselves, go ahead and share yours too.

My new result became more accurate and new regions being added - some others were discarded though, some probably erroneously. I guess you are 1/2 British and 1/2 German, or its is more complicated?

Somewhat more complicated because I also have ancestry from France and Belgium. My results to me make sense. I've uploaded my raw data from my previous 23&me test to livingdna and they assigned 78% British&Irish. This new result kind of agrees with my latest ethinicity estimate from Ancestrydna.

I'd recommend doing both. Then, downloading your raw dna data and uploading it to Illustrativedna.com to get G25 coordinates. With your raw data you can upload it to MyTrueAncestry to get even more insights into your ancestry.

It's a little frustrating but 23&Me has temporarily disallowed downloading one's dna data.

23&Me offers a subscription service where it provides more health reports and ancient sample matches. I was more interested in the latter so I decided to give it a try. If anyone has the subscription too how many new ancient sample reports does one get per month?

It looks like 23&Me hasn't added any of the samples I see on Genomelink (uploaded v4 23&me data) such as:
