I saw a post on GenArchivist regarding this and saw the G25 cords.
It seems that the J2a-L70 and related Y-DNA samples are as follows:
I29109 (J2a-L70)
I24471 (J2a-L70)
I22032 (J2a-L70)
S47786 (J2a-L70 > J2a-Z423 > J2a-Z435 ... J2a-S23155) (I assume this is the path)
n=31 (J2a-L70 > J2a-Z423 >...
Have there been any updates regarding the potential origin of J2-L70 and its origin culture/civilization alongside cultures/civilizations that J2-L70 has contributed towards?
If I understand correctly...
1) Albanians would plot around North Italians before the Eastern-Mediterranean (Levantine/Middle-Eastern) influx into the Balkans during the Roman Empire.
2) After the influx of Eastern-Meds, they plotted more between Central-Southern Italian like.
3) Slavic...
It is interesting to see how close Albanians are to these samples. Is the Albanian sample, Albanian.HO (my understanding is that this sample is not representative of Albanian as it is heavily Slavic-East Med shifted relative to the average Albanian or it is a Bulgarian/Vlach)?
Are you looking...
Let's not pretend the European continent isn't a vassal state of the United States and the group that runs the United States. Many European countries have voted in political parties that promises to halt and deport illegal aliens but once they get into power, they don't do anything they promised...
These are actually very interesting. I wasn't aware the Anatolian & Near Eastern Y-DNA was present even back then for Greeks.
Would ancient Anatolians be similar to Europeans if the were plotted on a PCA or would they be intermediate between the general European cluster and middle eastern...
What exactly is the autosomal DNA of contemporary Greeks and the Y-DNA of modern Greeks? Autosomally speaking, exactly how ancient Greek DNA do modern Greeks have? Is it enough for them to consider continuity? I do know that modern Greeks, as well as ethnic groups like Albanians have some Slavic...
Hello. I had come across a tweet and the comments of the tweet on social media in which the compilation of Y-DNA of modern Greeks from a FTDNA database is shown. The comments seem to indicate that modern Greeks do not have Y-DNA continuity from ancient Greeks like Mycenaean and that modern...
Would you be able to present the same PCA with modern samples of Greece, Albania, Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Ukraine highlighted and one that is zoomed in to those areas with the modern and ancient samples highlighted?
Thanks for this, Juan. I am hoping that J2a-L70 can be specifically linked to a unique culture/civilization in the future like how many R1a/R1b lines are with many cultures.
I was reading through a Serbian forum after scouring google for any information regarding haplogroup J2a-L70 and came across an interesting discussion. (Credit to the user Ivica Jovanovic on that forum).
I was curious of any J2a-L70s on Eupedia or anyone knowledge about J2a-L70 regarding their...
There appears to be a DNA paper coming in the next few months regarding burials from iron age Athens.
The abstract can be seen here.
Speculations
How much impact did these non-Greek populations have on Greek DNA during the classical era? Has there been any Greek sources that talk about these...
Hello,
Does this mean J2a-L70 is not really a Roman haplogroup (meaning it is not really related to Italic people)? Was J2a-L70 found in any different European civilizations/ethnic groups?
Did the people from Peladhi ever tell you what their ydna were? Were they J2a-L70 as well? If so, did they happen to tell you their paternal line's religion? Were they Bektashi Muslims?
