The big take away is that some blue states like New York, and California have lost people, and thus representation. I guess this is what happens when you have high property taxes, high crime, high poverty, etc! It is a no-brainer really, who wants to pay such high cost to live in such a place?

  • Texas will gain two seats in the House of Representatives, five states will gain one seat each (Colorado, Florida, Montana, North Carolina, and Oregon), seven states will lose one seat each (California, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia), and the remaining states’ number of seats will not change based on the 2020 Census.

Red states have gained seats, while these blue states have lost them.

This does not account for the cost of living and purchasing power. This depends on where you live, making 55k in some places is like making 155k in other places.

In NYC some senior garbage men can make 100k, and a CEO can make over a million and more.
