If you notice what I emboldened in that sentence you will get why I said he is smart.

His reply with "symmetric" in the sentence implies a game of mirror chess, and not a game of escalation.

That's why I said Putin is too smart to mess around. He knows the fact he can not survive an arms race very well, hence he tries to make the best of the situation, with " They did it, so we do it, but not more".

But yea, I get your point.... There is a limit to symmetric responses, with asymmetric resources.

Reagan was ridiculed and attacked by the Left, the Right and the Press, brutally and relentlessly.

I was not here, but from what I hear, He too was seen as an outsider and labeled unfit to be President.

Now it’s much worse because of Social-Media and the Internet.

It took 10 years for Reagan to be SANCTFIED (for the Right).

I'm not defending anyone, I'm just asking to keep that in mind next time you read or listen to Opinionated-Media.

Every, single, Republican politician is ridiculed in that way. If they went to Harvard or Yale then they find something else. Look at Ted Cruz. Well, maybe he isn't the best example. He's a weasel and I can't think of anyone who has ever had a good word to say for him.

I do have to say, Salento, that Trump is no Ronald Reagan.

Reagan did more damage to the "left" than any other president in history. There's a reason why the left and the media assaults Trump on a daily basis. He's a danger to them and their narrative.

He's well-known as an excellent debater but lets be honest here. Political success is about political capital such as looks and charisma. Cruz does not have an electable face. I'd be willing to bet that Cruz is much different person that how he's perceived by his peers and the media. Also look at Hilary Clinton, lets not kid ourselves here, her appearance on TV did not help her cause at all. Kennedy, Bush Jr., Bill Clinton, Reagan etc., were all people whose appearances translated well on television. Our 1st female president is probably going to be an attractive woman and it is often hypothesized that attractive people are often more successful.

I get how you feel bro. You probably work hard, pay taxes etc... and are thinking Socialism will tax you more, and give it to people who don't deserve it.

The issue is not you... IMO the issue is that the 0.001 not only do not pay taxes... they get subsidized with your tax dollar, ask Walmart or Tesla... or even Trump when his statements come out, mark my words. The problem is that 0.001 owns what? 50%? 90%? Who knows.... its all in Panama.

The hardest working people I knew when I lived in the US were Mexicans and Brazilians. Paying their taxes, just like your average Joe.
