Hi all,

After logging into my account I was confused to see my paternal haplogroup changed to R-M512/ R-M417 also referred to as R1a1a1.

Any reason as to the change? Are there Balkan subclades of M417/M512?

Any information on would be appreciated.

Interesting. Where in Italy are you from? My father gets alot of matched with Bari. Are there Arbereshe communities there? I recently tested R1a-Z283 with LivingDNA. I was negative for donwstream clades, which is interesting. I am testing with full genomes at the moment to derive specific placement. According to oral history in mirdita, the family that bore our original surname were mercenaries hired by Skenderbeg from Italy. I wonder if they were hired from settled Arberesh community. Would be interesting if related. What is your gedmatch kit number?

23andme shows that I am R-M417 (R1a1a1).
Does anybody have an more precize result? Like clade, and subclades.

To get more precise result you should take a more advanced test - like BigY-700 at FTDNA or a WGS test at DanteLabs, Nebula Genomics or YSEQ and analyze it at YFull.
