They seized his electric devices. There are possible links to acting on behalf of the Turkish government.

This seems to be coming at the time when Adams was going to the White House to talk about the migrant crisis. Of which Adams has been critical of Federal government's handling of the Southern boarder.

Across the river on NJ, senator Bob Mendenez is being asked to step down due to possible links to acting on behalf the Egyptian government.

What would the Turkish or Egyptian governments possibly want from the mayor of New York city?

Unclear, but Robert Menendez, a senator from the neighboring state of NJ was also found guilty as acting as a foreign agent for Egypt.

I read they funneled money into the Eric Adams campaign in exchange for the approval of a Turkish consulate in NYC.

Along with Turkey, and Egypt, other countries include Israel, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar, China.

These are the other people in trouble from his administration:

That doesn't sound very serious. I think there is no limit to the number of consulates country can have in another country. For example Mexico has no less than 50 consulates in the United States. As most embassies are located in Washington DC, it makes perfect sense for countries to set up consulates in other large cities like New York. It's actually surprising that a relatively large country like Turkey did not have any representation in New York yet.

I don't know the details of what happened with Eric Adams. Maybe the scandal was that he would only approve the creation of a Turkish consulate in exchange for a "private donation" to himself. That would be blackmail in addition to corruption. Maybe you know more about what really happened?

This is from ChatGPT doing an online search on the topic:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is currently facing a federal indictment on charges of bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and soliciting illegal campaign contributions from foreign nationals. The indictment, which was unsealed on September 26, 2024, focuses on Adams' alleged ties to Turkish officials and businessmen dating back to his time as Brooklyn Borough President. The charges involve accepting bribes and illegal campaign donations in exchange for political favors, including luxury travel and other perks. Federal investigators executed a search warrant at his home and seized his phone as part of the investigation. Despite the charges, Adams has proclaimed his innocence and stated he intends to continue serving as mayor(

ChatGPT, on if convicted of these crimes:

If convicted of the charges he's facing—bribery, wire fraud, conspiracy, and soliciting illegal campaign contributions—Eric Adams could face significant legal consequences:

  1. Bribery: Federal bribery laws carry severe penalties, including up to 15 years in prison, substantial fines, and disqualification from holding public office.
  2. Wire Fraud: Wire fraud can lead to up to 20 years in prison for each count, along with hefty fines. If the wire fraud affects a financial institution, the penalties can be even more severe.
  3. Conspiracy: Conspiracy charges, especially if tied to federal crimes like bribery and wire fraud, can also result in up to 5 years in prison for each count, plus fines.
  4. Illegal Campaign Contributions: Soliciting or accepting illegal campaign contributions from foreign nationals can lead to up to 5 years in prison, along with fines, and could potentially lead to forfeiture of assets related to the contributions.
Given the range of charges, Adams could face multiple years in prison, significant financial penalties, and permanent disqualification from holding any public office if convicted(

Wow! Funny that he thinks that, considering that is what I noticed back on November 2023 in the OP of this thread. I'm sure he did commit those crimes, but now the Dems are going to drop the hammer on him because he crossed the line. Nevertheless, I don't want to delve into conspiracy.
