    Maslomecz Goths Y-DNA: 13 out of 18 are I1-M253

I remember reading somewhere that three of these samples were R1a, one Z284 and two Z280. Does anyone know how they cluster autosomally ?

Potential R1a-M458 sample discovered in Bronze Age South-West Germany

I did not know that. Is there any serious reason to believe that it is younger than iron age ?

Potential R1a-M458 sample discovered in Bronze Age South-West Germany

I13780 is now classified under YP5267 (downstream of YP263> R-Y18892) on the Ytree live. L1029's TMRCA should increase accordingly.

Potential R1a-M458 sample discovered in Bronze Age South-West Germany

Interesting news indeed. I13780 seems to be downstream. If you hit the info button, you will see that it is positive for R-YP4289 and R-Y126934 under YP263. Besides the Swiss MX265 there is also I25524 (IA La Tene - Hungary) at M458 level (this is the sample reported as PF6155 in the british...

    R1a Z93 in Greece

As such, matches at 12 STRs will not tell you much. At this level, you can exactly match someone with a MRCA who lived 4000/5000 ybp. What are your matches' terminal SNPs ? Do they also fall under your subclade ?

    R1a Z93 in Greece

Personnally I think that it is from 1000 BC (based on the findings of the authors of the paper), but I am not an authority on the subject and I know that it is debated.

    R1a Z93 in Greece

The oldest R1a-Z93 ancient sample in the Balkans was found in Bulgaria and is dated around 1675 BC. Its ID is I2163 and you can read about it here. https://www.nature.com/articles/nature25778#Sec16 But it lef no descendants since it is Z93*. There also the SZ1 sample from Szolad which was first...

How did I2a-Din get to the Balkans?

There is a new Hungarian I-Y3120* sample on the ytree (future new subclade BY154615). Does this new sample add anything meaningful to the debate regarding the place of origin of CTS10228 and its route to the Balkans ?

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

Thanks for the post Illyricum. I have read the 2012 Klyosov/Rozhanski paper a while ago. But I think that their conclusions about M417’s expansion from the Balkans are not accurate. The same for their dating of events. I would expect more ancient samples / basal clades in the Balkans if they...

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

Yes, I don't have enough data (from different regions of balkans) on subclades to make better statements You can look at yfull to have an (uncomplete) idea of the subclades today present in the diferent countrees. If you have an account with FTDNA, you can get there similar information...

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

Where could I found more precise information on this? I gave a look on poreklo, but in their summary of 2019 (in english) they only mention 4 subclades for R-Z280 and 3 for R-M458.

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

To have a complete picture, there are also a R-Y3226* sample (from Tepelena) and a new R-YP515* sample (from Mallakastër), so two additional founder effects. Do you know if the Plan/Pult clans intend to test deeper ? It would be very interesting to know their confirmed terminal subclade.

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

As usual, Dibran's posts are detailed, well reasonned and documented and I appreciate them for that. But as such, you cannot accurately summarize them in a one sentence statement. Whatever R1a lineages, the South Slavs brought in the Balkans, it was not R-M458 and R-Z280 but their various...

    R1a-CTS1211 > CTS8816 > Y2902 > YP3994 in Albania and in the Balkans

Thanks, I found the thread and will ask him myself. For yseq and yfull samples, there is another tool online: https://phylogeographer.com/scripts/heatmap.php If you look at the heatmaps of R-L1029 and R-Y2902, they are slightly different from the ones you posted. I assume that if someone merged...

Thanks for the map. Helpful as always. How did you generate it ? Can you make one for my terminal subclade?
