    Romaniote are more West Asian than Ashkenazim. So how are they more ~250% more J? ((Apparently)) but I’ve seen statistics that say otherwise. I believe it maybe due to bottleneck or the statistics are maybe just hogwash. But I would much prefer the former in these two scenarios...

    I reject that notion, just a little. I believe the Levite uniparental have been there since the beginning of Judaism. Keep in mind there have been a wave of Indo-European influx in the Levant that predates Judaism. Indo-Aryan Mitanni - yes, Hittite - yes, Mycenaean - absolutely!

    There is no reason to speculate it may not be true. The Shapiro Family from Lithuania (where Shapiro's paternal ancestry is from) via FAmilyTreeDNA group project Spiro, Spira, Shapiro is almost exclusively R-M269 and likely R-Z2103. Plus, some have seen his results on 23&me and said it was R-L23.
